The joint venture plans to transform the 12-acre Stretford site with 750 homes, 200,000 sq ft of offices, a 100-bedroom hotel and primary school.

To be called Lumina Village, architect Feilden Clegg designed the regeneration scheme, which is located opposite Old Trafford Cricket Ground and forms part of Trafford Council’s wider Civic Quarter masterplan.

Buro Happold is advising the client as energy and utilities consultant.

Around 15 buildings are planned to be constructed around the central former Kellogg brick building, which is now home to University Academy 92. The tallest will rise to 20 storeys with the others ranging in height from 8 to 12 storeys.

Andrea George, regional director of Town Centres at Bruntwood Works, said: “Lumina Village will be a mixed-use neighbourhood that combines the heritage and history of the area with the needs of the modern resident, worker, student and school pupil.”
