Transport corporation Translink is holding a virtual market engagement event as it starts the hunt for a partner to develop a £380m office-led mixed use scheme.

The site at Weavers Cross in Belfast will also include the city’s new flagship transport hub.

Translink is looking to generate interest from potential partners across the UK.

The Weavers Cross Developer Market Day will allow interested parties to find out more about the 1.3m sq ft scheme.

Procurement is expected to launch early next year and will take the form of a contractual joint venture to build the mixed-use development scheme which will include offices, residential, hotel and ancillary retail and leisure.

It will include significant public realm investment at Saltwater Square and will sit alongside a 160,000 sq ft transport hub which commenced development in February.

Speakers at the online event, which will take place on Thursday 26 November 2020 at 2pm, include Chris Conway, Chief Executive of Translink, and Adam White, Senior Director at CBRE.

Conway said: “As the biggest public transport development ever in Northern Ireland, Weavers Cross will be transformational for Belfast and for the whole island.

“As such, we want to work with a high quality partner to deliver our aim of creating a high-class gateway, offering attractive, dynamic and imaginative sustainable mixed use development opportunities for investors, whilst at the same time maximising social impact.

“We would urge potential partners to attend the online event which will flesh out the detail around Weavers Cross and show why this is the most exciting mixed-use development project in Belfast for years.”

White said: “This is a prime opportunity for a major developer to partner with Translink in a landmark project which will make a huge positive impression on Belfast.”

Potential partners that wish to join the Weavers Cross Developer Market Day on line can contact Emma McKnight, CBRE – email [email protected]
