The North Island building will deliver 136 new homes with 3,000 sq ft of planned commercial space on the ground floor.
The contract is understood to be worth around £30m.
Construction of the North Island building is part of Argent Related’s £500m Tottenham Hale regeneration scheme which will create a fully-integrated new neighbourhood including over 1,000 new homes, 15 retail spaces, co-working and office space and a new health centre.
North Island has been designed by architects Alford Hall Monaghan Morris while landscape architects Grants Associates have been commissioned to conceive the design of new public and green spaces.
Tom Goodall, Partner and Head of Residential at Argent Related, said: “We are proud to announce the start of construction on the next phase of the Tottenham Hale development and our partnership with HG Construction.
“This is a statement of confidence in the London housing market and Argent Related’s ability to deliver at pace the high quality homes we need to help young people and families get on the housing ladder in this vibrant and growing part of North London.”
Christopher Benham, CEO of HG Construction, said: “We are delighted to be Argent Related’s construction partner for this exciting and innovative scheme and look forward to working together.
“North Island is a key building block in the wider regeneration of Tottenham Hale, a project which will kickstart the local economy and transform the area into a thriving new destination for Londoners.”
