The contractor, which has a strong track record in South Yorkshire, will deliver two new buildings as well as refreshing, remodelling and refurbishing other parts of the Yorkshire school’s estate.
Bam will start on site in June and the buildings will be fully operational in September 2013 for the start of the academic year.
Maltby Academy, which has space for 1,200 students aged 11-19, is currently a mixture of buildings from the 1930s, 1960s and the start of this century.
Bam will build a new business and enterprise centre, deliver a purpose built sports science facility and convert the old gymnasium for use in the performing and creative arts.
Project director Paul Cleminson said: “We have worked hard to understand the ambition for Maltby Academy and are confident we will deliver learning spaces that students and the community can be proud of.’
