Originally the site was earmarked to provide 17% affordable homes, but that figure has risen to 40% with the support of a financial contribution from Vistry Partnerships, significant funding from LiveWest supported by grant funding from Homes England.
Bradley Davison, Managing Director for Vistry Partnerships South West, said: “Harrington Park is a major development that will play an important role in this part of the city for many years to come, and we’re delighted that a significant proportion of the homes will be affordable for many local people.
“By working in partnership, once again we have been able to find a viable way to bring forward more affordable homes without compromising on the creation of Place that will ultimately ensure this will be a great place to live.”
LiveWest, the south west’s largest housing provider, and Vistry Partnerships have been working together for more than 10 years.
Recently, the two businesses announced plans to deliver more than 2,000 new homes across the region.
This joint venture will see 678 new homes built in Exeter, as well as a further 1,400 across the south west, as part of both organisation’s drive to meet the desperate need for new housing across the area.
