But the firm and college failed to agree the next stage leading to a rebid with three contractors in a single-stage tender.

In recent years, Burnley College has seen a large increase in student numbers and in order to provide for that increase, Turner will deliver a new BREEAM Very good rated teaching building, along with an extension to the sports centre.

The teaching building will provide 2,500m2 space over four-storeys, as well as this, a specialist mock ward area to support the College’s health and nursing courses.

The 950m2 extension to the sports centre will see a strength gym, running tack, therapy suite, dance studio and three new teaching spaces housed there.
