This £90m project involves the remediation of the existing site and construction of roads, bridges and flood mitigation measures.
The deal for the vast project also includes electricity, gas, communications, water connections and new landscaped parkland areas.
The leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Nesil Caliskan, said: “We are proceeding with pace on this ambitious programme which will transform the face of Enfield.”
Julian Gatward, Managing Director of Taylor Woodrow said: “Sustainability is at the heart of our approach and we are committed to making a positive difference to the communities that we work within.
“Our social value strategy will be a key driver in the success of the project, and includes supporting the growth of responsible regional business, protecting and enhancing the environment, and providing a variety of training and employment opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.”
This 12-month design development phase will see Taylor Woodrow work with design partner Watermans to develop a sustainable design and construction solution for the project and begin early engagement with key supply chain partners.
A two-year construction programme then follows in order to deliver this important stage in the transformational plan for the area.
