The £25m contract will run for two and half years until September 2023 and has been awarded through Transport for London’s Highways Maintenance and Projects Framework.
The JV is covering a 189km network of TfL roads in the north of the capital, and all 13 London Boroughs in the area also have the option to directly access services through the framework, with Barnet being the first London Borough contract that the JV has secured.
Peter Hyde, highways services director, at Tarmac said: “We’re looking forward to getting started and delivering a cost-effective, first-class service for Barnet and TfL that will help to cut congestion and increasingly support sustainable travel.”
James Birch, managing director of local highways at Kier Highways, said: “We are proud to have been given this opportunity to extend our service proposition in north London to Barnet Council and look forward to providing safe, efficient, and sustainable services to customers in the Borough.”
