Builders using QuoteMyGoods are saving an average of 15% on materials as the internet makes it quicker to find the best available prices from merchants.
The service works for all sizes of contracts from multi-million commercial and housing projects down to domestic building jobs.
Contractors simply enter the materials needed for a project and the details are matched against all participating merchants to return the best quotes.
The QuoteMyGoods system compares prices automatically and calculates the best deals. Contractors then simply accept the quote and arrange for deliveries in the normal way.
But it is not all down to code and technology with the QuoteMyGoods team reviewing orders to make sure customers get the best service and benefit from the human touch.
Former builder and co-owner of the website, John Long said: “Our customers have been amazed at the time and savings they’re making, and we continually add products from merchants so they can shift more stock and win new business.
“It’s a win:win for the entire industry. By finding the best price and arranging the delivery our system is making a massive difference in the tight margins for customers and we handle all the questions for the merchants – they simply get a purchase order if they win the business.”
Mick James of developer Tally Homes said: “We have been using QuoteMyGoods to source materials for a while now. The firm has saved over £8,000 on 33 orders in the last year – we couldn’t be happier with that.”
Customers using the service pay a fee of up to 5% of the materials total while merchants can sign-up free of charge.
The QuoteMyGoods team will add the products to the system for merchants and pricing can be easily added or updated via a merchant dashboard.
Merchants can also set pricing for a specific time period safeguarding margins against market price fluctuations.
