The £25m package includes temporary car parking, asbestos removal, demolition, clinical refurbishment works and a new-build 1,000 space multi-storey car park and cycle hub.

In delivering this project, Morgan Sindall Construction will ensure minimal disruption to the hospital estate, ensuring departments can provide continuity in vital healthcare services for all patients and staff within the live hospital environment.

Located in Crumpsall around 3.5 miles outside Manchester city centre, the hospital is one of the first to receive funding through the Government’s Health Infrastructure Plan, backed by an initial £3.7bn to deliver 40 new hospitals across the country by 2030.

The project – led by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust with Manchester City Council and Manchester Health and Care Commissioning – recognises that over 70% of the existing estate needs to be rebuilt.
