Designed by architect Pilbrow & Partners, it is claimed it will be London’s most sustainable high-rise office achieving both BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum accreditations.
Edge London Bridge will be built at 60–68 St Thomas Street on the site of Beckett House and will form part of an emerging cluster of buildings around the Shard.
A construction start is understood to be slated for Spring 2022.
The 250,000 sq ft building will incorporate a new public park with landscaping right next to the building.
The park connects to the open base of the building which marks a significant departure from the standard London office.
The new smart building will feature a high-volume underfloor ventilation system to deliver fresh air to the office floors, washing out pollutants from bottom to top.
In addition to mechanical ventilation, the building has been designed with perimeter openings at each floor to allow further natural ventilation.
Radiant ceiling panels also fitted with lights will provide heating and cooling to the floors.
Gardiner & Theobald is providing project and cost management and Atlier 10 M&E design for the office job which is due to open in 2025.
