Hall & Tawse has been in business for more than 130 years and currently operates under Balfour’s Mansell brand.
A Balfour Beatty spokesman said: “Due to a significant downturn in activity levels Mansell has put forward a proposal to close its Hall and Tawse Joinery workshop located in Aberdeen.
“Mansell is currently undertaking a consultation with employees regarding this proposal so it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
Balfour is currently restructuring its UK construction services division with up to 1,500 jobs at risk.
The contractor is believed to be reorganising the company into three main work streams – regional building and civils, regional M&E and infrastructure.
