Its planned pan-Government collaborative Offsite Construction Solutions framework deal is expected to be worth up to £10bn as more projects swing over to modular designs in the drive to cut costs.
Offsite Construction Solutions (OCS) will replace the existing £500m modular building solutions agreement secured three years ago by five major suppliers – Caledonian, Elliott, McAvoy, Portakabin and Wernick – and a further 18 smaller-scale players.
The multi-lot structure of the new framework will be determined after the market engagement events during January and February with existing and new suppliers.
The new seven-year agreement is planned to supersede existing sector deals with the intention that it is used by central Government departments, their arm’s length bodies and the wider public sector including local government, health, education, police, fire and rescue, housing associations and charities.
