The former safety director for the London rail project will replace its current SHEQ director, Martin Worthington, who will retire later this year.
Bardell-Wise will now play a pivotal role in strengthening the infrastructure division’s health and wellbeing, safety, environmental and quality programmes and standards, as well as supporting its commitment to delivering innovative and responsible infrastructure.
Before Crossrail, Bardell-Wise worked for HS2, and the rail businesses of Costain and Balfour Beatty over a career spanning 20 years in construction.
Simon Smith, managing director for Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, said: “Carole’s appointment will continue to drive our performance, adding significant value beyond her functional leadership responsibilities and supporting our imperative to make sure that every one of our colleagues goes home safe and well every day.”
