The Scottish Government has granted final approval for the project in Parkhead, which is being billed as Scotland’s first working net-zero carbon health and social care facility.
The building will become home to three GP practices and a community pharmacy when it opens to the public in 2024.
Hoskins Architects designed the super surgery project, which will be built on the site of the former Parkhead Hospital.
Prestwick-based Dalcon Civil Engineering is understood to have been lined up for the groundworks and civils package.
Tom Steele, Director of Estates and Facilities at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: “The hub will be the largest primary care development we’ve ever committed to and a pioneering project, as our first-ever net-zero carbon facility. ”
