Smyth, who has previously held senior management roles at Murphy Group and Capita, will take up the reins next month.
He joins industry veterans Cormac MacCrann, former Canary Wharf contractors MD, and Tony Giddings, former Argent director, on the board who were recently appointed independent non-executive directors.
