Abbey Pynford filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator last month but Conlon has stepped-forward to save the company as a going concern.
Conlon is based in Wiltshire and the £50m turnover business was Abbey Pynford’s biggest client.
Abbey Pynford managing director Steve Wilson is no longer with the business and has joined Van Elle as a regional director.
Robert Mitchell has taken over as Abbey Pynford managing director. He spent nine years at the firm in various senior roles before leaving in December 21.
In a statement to customers Mitchell said: “I would like to apologise on behalf of the previous management for any disruption over the last number of weeks and any frustration it may have caused you.
“We are now able to inform you of the purchase of the Abbey Pynford Group of Companies by Conlon Ltd.”
Work has now resumed on all of the firm’s sites.
