The planned £100m Gresham scheme marks the first major project of many that will transform the town, creating jobs and opportunities for local businesses and it focuses on a site that has been left empty for decades.
The MDC is looking for a developer to bring forward the 2ha Gresham site, which is located at a main entry point to the town from the A66.
In launching the Middlesbrough Development Corporation last month, Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen committed to the regeneration of the town and is now calling on local investors and businesses to become part of the transformation.
Houchen, said: “We are excited to launch this plan to bring Gresham back to life. When I launched the MDC I promised that we wouldn’t hang around and we’d get on and deliver real change and improvements to the town.
Firms have until 11 May to submit bids with a decision on the development partner expected to be taken by 1 September.
