Plans for the major redevelopment on part of the Fallowfield site covering Owens Park, Oak House and Woolton Hall have gone out to consultation ahead of an outline planning submission in the next few weeks.

The 3,300-bed next phase, designed by Sheppard Robson, would result in up to 5,400 beds across the Fallowfield campus, helping to uplift the current number of beds by up to 950.

The redevelopment will be delivered in multiple phases and includes the demolition of Owens Park Tower, which has been closed for several years.

This £7m demolition contract is out to tender with bids due in at the end of this month.

Vinci built phase one of just over 1,100 bedrooms arranged in eight accommodation blocks four years ago. But the plan to replace all the existing outdated stock stalled after this first phase completed.
