The Enquirer has learnt that the accident took place last Tuesday and the victim, a man in his 60s, subsequently died in hospital two days later
Ferrovial said: “It is with great sadness that we can confirm that a Ferrovial Construction employee working at Heathrow Airport has died following a road traffic collision that took place on the morning of 13th June.
“We are working with Heathrow to fully understand the circumstances behind the collision and are supporting our colleague’s family at this very sad time.”
The Metropolitan Police said: “Officers were called at 04:58hrs on Tuesday, 13 June to airside outside Terminal 4, Heathrow Airport.
“A bus, used to transport passengers, was in collision with a man aged in his early 60s.
“The man was employed by a private contractor working at Heathrow.
“London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.
The man, in his early 60s, was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he died on Thursday, 15 June.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“The bus was not transporting passengers when it was involved in the collision. Enquiries continue; no arrests have been made.”
