The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has replaced Balfour Beatty Living Places with Amey on the two-year deal for highways, bridge works and winter service.
Amey will start work on June 1 when Balfour’s current deal comes to an end.
Cllr Phill Bicknell, cabinet member for highways, transport and environment, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to award the new contracts to Amey and the other contractors to provide all our highways and bridge works as well as our winter servicing.
“The largest contract with Amey has resulted in a saving of 15% on the current contract which represents more than £200,000 over two years – while continuing to fulfil our commitment to deliver good quality, cost effective services for our residents.”
In addition the council has let contracts to Eurovia Infrastructure Ltd (road resurfacing); Bellstan Ltd (road markings); HMS Decorative Surfacing Ltd (high friction surfacing) and May Gurney Ltd (road signs).
Cllr Bicknell added: “All of these new contracts will provide better value for our residents.”
