Snagging list App makes fault finding easy

Snagging lists are being dragged into the smart phone age with a new iPhone App designed to make highlighting construction defects easier.

The new Snag List App is due out this summer.

The App will allow users to rapidly detail defects on site by recorded notes, typing in problems or simply taking a photo.

Snag List will then generate a PDF detailing all the discovered faults which can then be emailed direct to the firms responsible.

The designers of Snag List are currently finalising funding to launch the App and have turned to “crowd funding” to raise the required cash.

They are hoping the construction industry will see the potential of the idea and donate to the site at http://www.indiegogo.com/snaglist

Designer James Crowson is working on the App with construction project manager Scott Eggleton.

Egleton said: “Currently the best and quickest way to do it is to take a photo using a digital camera or smart phone, and write down a description of the snag on a pad of paper.

“This is an enormously time consuming process, sometimes taking weeks to assess a single building. This is only half the job as the next step is to create a report of the problems using a word processor.

“We’ve designed Snag List alongside people working in the industry and so far have received a huge amount of positive feedback.”
