Forshaw acquired the 1-acre plot, which is adjacent to VOX Manchester and the Cornbrook Metrolink, from Peel Waters which is master-planning the wider site.
The proposed building, located between Manchester City Centre and Old Trafford, will provide for include 229 flats ranging from one to four bedrooms.
Also included within the plans is a four-storey, 87-room apart-hotel.
Architect Leach Rhodes Walker designed the scheme whose look is inspired by the industrial heritage of the site.
Lyndon Forshaw, managing director of Forshaw Group, said: “I’m really excited by our proposals for this hugely important gateway site that delivers on the ambitions of the Cornbrook Regeneration Framework.
“This will be our largest residential-led scheme to date and delivers the first hotel of our new prestigious brand Vivere Aparthotels.”
The proposed Forshaw project forms part of a wider Manchester Waters masterplan to regenerate the brownfield site and bring much needed homes and amenities to the area.
