In a stronger year, Ferns lifted revenue by around a third to £81m in the year to May 2023, generating a pre-tax profit of £2.9m compared with a loss £1.8m in 2022.
Operating margin improved to 3.9%.
Group CEO Ian Fern said that in a competitive market, the group has performed well, growing as a new telecoms workstream has built up.
He said : “Following on from the previous year’s traded accounts. The group actively sourced and procured new contracts in April 2022 and restructured its management team to support growth and development.”
He added further profitable growth was forecast for the next financial year due to the long-term frameworks the group had now secured.
During the year average head count fell by 10% to around 200 staff.
