The firm set up 17 years ago by three electricians grew in size running two offices and employing over 40 staff.
As the business grew it split into two divisions, one known as JDL MEP covering commercial projects for main contractors and tier 1 M&E contractors on projects up to £1m.
Its other small works department offered plumbing, heating, and electrical services to the domestic market.
In a statement, the firm said: “Unfortunately, it is with great sadness that, JDL Electrical, Plumbing & Heating Ltd ceased trading.
“We will be unable to complete any outstanding works and would recommend that you seek an alternative contractor to complete these works.
“We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your support over the years.”
Last August, the business changed its official registered company name from JDL Electrical, Plumbing & Heating to JDL Subcontracting, which is the company administrators from RSM UK have taken into their charge.
