Northern Ireland’s Henry Brothers, privately-owned building contractor Willmott Dixon and offsite specialist ZED Pods all won recognition in the Sustainable Development category.
Willmott Dixon has been recognised in the prestigious business accolade for the second successive year after last year winning an award in the category of Promoting Opportunity.
Its is the fifth time Willmott Dixon has achieved this accolade since 2014, and the third time in recognition of sustainability.
Graham Dundas, Willmott Dixon’s chief executive, said: “The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the pre-eminent way to recognise outstanding achievements by UK businesses and it’s very humbling that this award has been bestowed on Willmott Dixon for a fifth time.
“Our purpose is to leave a world fit for future generations, both by reducing the impact of our operations and by delivering future-climate-ready buildings for our customers that use less carbon in construction and operation.”
Ian Henry, CR Director at Henry Brothers, said: “This achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to responsible business, something which is instilled deep within the culture of our organisation and is very much part of who we are as a company.
“Sustainable practices have been at the heart of Henry Brothers’ operations since its inception, and we make a conscious effort to minimise our environmental impact while maximising positive social and business outcomes.
