Rob Lemming is promoted to managing director for Public Sector & Life Sciences while Alister Grey takes on the new role of managing director for Technology and Manufacturing.

Gareth Lewis, chief executive officer of Construction, said: “For over 30 years Mace has been delivering some of the world’s most challenging construction projects – amongst the most iconic structures ever built – but we don’t stand still.

“We have ambitious targets to expand our business across the globe and in diverse sectors, and to do this it is important that we have the right people in place.

“The appointments of Alister and Rob represent how Mace is tapping into developing markets and the depth of talent we have in our own teams to deliver our plans for growth.”

Since joining Mace in 2014, Lemming has helped deliver particularly complex projects, most notably AstraZeneca’s flagship Discovery Centre in Cambridge.

He has also helped to enlarge Mace’s presence in the UK life sciences and pharmaceutical market, growing the business’s pipeline in this expanding market, which is benefiting from investment brought about by the world’s growing and ageing population.

Alister Grey joined Mace in 2016. Since then, he has helped develop Mace’s construction management delivery model, including the £1.8bn Battersea Power Station Phase 2 in London.

He subsequently became the commercial director for the Technology & Manufacturing business unit, where he oversaw some of Construct’s largest data centre projects with international blue chip technology companies.

As managing director, he will continue to concentrate on delivery within the UK, Irish and European data centre markets, as well as supporting Mace Consult’s services in semi-conductors and gigafactories across the globe.
