Under the £48m project, existing school buildings on site will be demolished to make space for the new facility which will accommodate over 1,130 pupils.
David Rowsell, managing director at Kier Construction London, said that the new school will be designed and constructed over two phases, using Kier’s K-School design platform, and will be net zero carbon in its operation.
It will consist of thermally efficient buildings, incorporating the use of ground source heat pump technology, and green roofs with photovoltaic panels.
New facilities will also be made available for community use, including outdoor sport pitches, a three-court multi-use games area; amphitheatre with covered canopy, cinema, activity studio and fitness rooms.
