The 116-year-old grade II-listed Moseley Road Baths swimming baths are undergoing a major long-term rejuvenation.
This first phase of the project begins with crucial roof and façade works, which will see scaffolding erected during September.
It will also see a café added to the Second-Class Slipper Baths, reconfiguration of visitors spaces and installation of the first of three lifts.
Luke Arnold, Regional Director at ISG said the firm will also carry out reinforcement works to the basement and foundations as well as installation of air source heat pumps.
Phase 1 works have been funded by Government levelling up funding, Birmingham City Council and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The building works were designed by Donald Insall Associates, supported by Max Fordham, Mann Williams and Artelia, with Mace as programme and project delivery consultant.
