Designed by Building Design Partnership, the 42-storey building will be Progressive Living’s biggest scheme to date.
The ground level of Enclave project on Gorton Street will provide active frontages to the public realm and to the riverside.
This application supersedes a previous submission made by Progressive to Salford City Council in 2021, for a mixed hotel and co-living scheme which also included the repurposing of the eight adjacent railway arches alongside a 36-storey tower.
Tender negotiations are understood to be underway with contractor Midgard.
David Fairclough, Director, Progressive Living, said: “We have spent the last five years researching and developing our co-living model with our partners, and are delighted that Salford City Council have worked with us and embraced those principles to deliver the first co-living scheme in Salford.
“Building sustainable communities is key for us and this carefully considered complex will ensure that residents have access to an array of communal spaces that will enable them to connect with others, and support their wellbeing.”
