Bouygues has parachuted one of its rising stars onto the Thomas Vale board to steer its integration into the French contracting giant.

Bouygues UK’s former deputy commercial director Jean-Stéphane Didier will take over as deputy managing director of Thomas Vale with immediate effect.

He will report to Thomas Vale’s managing director Tony Hyde, while working alongside its senior management team to ensure the swift integration of Thomas Vale  into Bouygues Bâtiment International.

BBI unveiled the board appointment as its takeover of the Midlands builder was given the official green light by the European Commission competition commission.

Didier, understood to be in his mid thirties, has been with Bouygues UK since 2008.

He played a key role in the firm’s local authorities team, particularly on Tower Hamlets, Westminster and Waltham Forest BSF programmes.
