Building products supplier Grayson is supporting the National House Building Council (NHBC) as part of its current training drive.

Grayson is providing resources, including brickwork materials and training aids to help develop the next generation of construction professionals.

As part of this partnership, Grayson’s Specification and Product Manager, Katie Wills, has visited NHBC’s five academies across the UK to deliver practical training to learners.

Training covers key products such as cavity trays, wall ties and fire barriers for high-rise or standard-sized housing developments.

Tony Higson, Managing Director at Grayson, said: “At Grayson, we are passionate about supporting the next generation of construction professionals.

“By providing these advanced resources and expert training, we aim to bridge the gap between education and the demands of the modern construction industry, ensuring that learners are not just prepared for being on site, but also excel in their careers.”

Katie Wills added: “Working closely with the NHBC academies is an incredible opportunity to share our knowledge and help trainees develop the practical skills they’ll need on-site. The hands-on training we provide, whether with cavity trays or the latest non-combustible materials, is designed to ensure that learners are confident using the products that meet today’s high safety and performance standards. It’s rewarding to see how these sessions, combined with our tailored learning aids, are helping the students gain a real understanding of best practices in modern construction.”

Leigh Jakeman, Technical Trainer at NHBC, said: “We fully appreciate Grayson’s generous contributions to the NHBC Training Hubs. Their consistent support in training, competitions and provision of quality resources has been invaluable in helping us deliver quality training. Grayson stands firmly behind us and shares our passion for what we do. We extend our heartfelt thanks and look forward to their continued support and generosity.”

Grayson’s collaboration with NHBC builds on its ongoing commitment to support Further Education (FE) establishments and colleges, a focus the company has strengthened over the past year.

The company’s partnerships with institutions such as the Lee Marley Academy and New City College reflect its wider initiative to bring more industry-leading products and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions to colleges and academies across the UK.
