Peter Clifford, formerly of Holland Road, Felixstowe, was charged with three offences in October last year following the death of construction worker Dale Baker in December 2020.
Clifford was charged with gross negligence manslaughter and safety offences and his firm Hintonwood East Anglia Ltd also faced safety charges after Baker died in a collapsed trench during extension work on a house.
Clifford was summonsed to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Friday 15 November 2024, but then failed to attend a subsequent hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday 20 March and was also absent at a further hearing on Friday 4 April.
Following his first failure to appear, the court issued a warrant for his arrest and police are now appealing for assistance from the public to locate him.
Clifford is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, bald with receding hair at the sides and of heavy build. He has links to Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and London.
Anyone who believes they have seen Clifford, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact Suffolk Police by calling 101 quoting reference: 37/72620/20.
