Revised plans have now been passed by Spelthorne Borough Council for a new ‘Centre of Excellence’ at Hazelwood Golf Course.
The council also approved plans to turn the club’s current training ground in The Avenue, Sunbury into 206 new homes.
The club will also contribute £1.5m for affordable housing elsewhere in the borough and £600,000 for education facilities in Sunbury.
The new training centre will include five full-sized pitches, including a ‘3G’ synthetic turf pitch. Three of the pitches will be floodlit.
Club chief executive Andy Martin said: “Clearly we are delighted with the news. We have been working on this project for a very long time and would like to thank sincerely all of our project team, our neighbours and supporters for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout.
“We recognise that our plans will have a huge impact on our local community and therefore we will continue to work closely with our neighbours and Spelthorne Borough Council to ensure we deliver something that everyone can be proud of.”
The club hopes to have construction of the new centre completed in time for the 2015 season.
