The Netley school site was earmarked as a priority for improvements, but children and teachers were left disappointed when the government cut its capital programme for schools.
Now the improvements are back on the table, thanks to the Council’s Community Investment Programme.
The £9m improvements to the school will be funded through the sale of private housing as part of this £28m project, which will be self-financing.
Enabling works have been underway for several weeks allowing Bam to start construction of the first two new blocks for the school.
