The Central Square scheme in Leeds city centre consists of 89,000 sq ft and 173,000 sq ft office buildings over eight and eleven floors.
The former Royal Mail site scheme is being promoted by EC Harris as the asset manager on behalf of the former developer’s liquidators Deloitte.
The site was set to be developed as two residential towers, one 54 storeys high. Carillion started foundation works but the developer of the Lumiere project went into liquidation in 2010.
Final approval for the new scheme has been deferred to the chief planning officer subject to the completion of the section 106 agreement.
Roger Thompson, development management partner at EC Harris, said: “We will continue to work with Leeds City Council to complete the planning agreement and will now be actively progressing plans to market and secure the future development of the site.”
The scheme has been designed by the Leeds office of architect Aedas.
