It plans to build the 370,000 sq ft store on the old Tinsley Wire site next to the Meadowhall retail park and will submit plans in the next few months after a public consultation.
The company said it had been looking for a “large enough” site in South Yorkshire for many years.
It had decided on the Sheffield Road site because of its links to public transport, network of major roads and access from the city centre.
Sheffield architect HCD is working on the scheme for a showroom, market hall, warehouse and car park along with a restaurant, crèche and customer service areas.
Around 200 construction jobs will be sustained if the the plan gets the go-ahead from councillors.
