Bam wins £15m Johnstone town hall hub job

Renfrewshire Council has signed a deal with the Glasgow office of BAM Construction to build a new town hall and civic hub building in Johnstone.

The new town hall will cluster several services under one roof including a new library, theatre, registry service and office for Strathclyde Police.

Demolition of the existing buildings will get underway shortly, allowing construction of the new town hall this autumn, with completion set for spring 2015.

Traditional materials such as slate and local stone will be used in the building.
