The South of M4 Consortium – which includes the University of Reading, Taylor Wimpey and BDW Trading Limited – is developing the massive new town.

The University is now leading the procurement race for the £20m Shinfield Eastern Relief Road and M4 overbridge which will help unlock the site.

The contract is due to be awarded in January 2014 with construction starting in January 2015 with all work completed in June 2016.

The job will be procured in three lots: Lot 1 Design and Build of the Relief Road and M4 Overbridge. Lot 2 Design and Build of the M4 Overbridge. Lot 3 Design and Build of the Relief Road.
