The precise programme of works and projects has to be determined but estate chiefs estimate the total UK works will range from £100m to as high as £500m.

It plans to hold a series of  market engagement events around England next month to start pre-tendering the various lots within the framework by October.

Works packages include new construction,  repair and maintenance, mechanical and electrical services and alarms systems.

The exact duration of contract and regions are still to be determined.
