A share placing announced today will help raise cash for a regional development programme providing 2,500 new student beds.
Unite said: “Attractive development opportunities are emerging in a highly select number of regional locations as a result of a significant demand/supply imbalance coupled with land and build costs being at historic lows.
“Two existing Unite projects which are good examples of such opportunities are Kingsmill Lane, Huddersfield (378 beds) and Trenchard Street, Bristol (442 beds) scheduled to be delivered in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
“The proposed regional development programme will be pursued alongside the Group’s existing London development activities.”
Construction on the new regional sites will start later this year.
