Main contractor Thomas Vale dialled 999 and the West Mercia Police promptly arrived to arrest the man at the Slideslow Drive scheme.

Thomas Vale has been on site since last October working on the combined emergency services centre for the local police and fire brigade.

A man has now been charged with possessing a knife following the incident.

William John Holt, aged 31, of Burcot Lane, has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place and will appear before Redditch magistrates on 25 June.
