Yeovilton is one of two active Fleet Air Arm bases and is currently home to the Royal Navy’s Lynx helicopters and the commando helicopter force.
DIO’s Wildcat Infrastructure Project will see three contracts coming up for bid among it framework contractors.
The largest, called contract 5, is valued at £60m and will see demolition and construction of three accommodation blocks for senior ratings.
Work also includes a sports pavilion, alterations to existing medical and dental centres.
Contract 4A, worth up to £25m, will involve some demolition again and construction of several military buildings including new squadron accommodation and offices and modifications to hangars
Contract 2 (Little Yeovilton) involves building new quartermaster and military transport facilities for the Army Air Corps plus rationalisation of the existing Little Yeovilton site and associated infrastructure projects.
This project is estimated to be worth around £15m.
