In the separate league for total work won during the last 12 months, BAM’s construction businesses took top honours for the first time after its order book swelled from a series of big building contract wins in recent months.
Housing maintenance specialist Bullock leaped into the top five firms winning work in June after picking up a £94m residential refurbishment job for Wolverhampton Homes.
Civils specialist CA Blackwell also shot up the monthly contracts rankings after landing an £85m civils job on a mine at Hemerdon in Devon for Wolf Minerals.
Balfour Beatty had something to celebrate after securing its first major London high-rise project after several years of trying. Worth £110m, the firm will employ modular construction to build 484 flats in Tower Hamlets for developer Ballymore.
Among the other big winners was Carillion with a £122m brace of Crossrail jobs covering the Great Western Line between West Drayton and Paddington; and Old Oak Common and Paddington Approaches.
