Procurement bosses at Birmingham City Council have called for firms to prequalify for a £200m highways and civil engineering framework covering roads in the west Midlands.

The Highways and Infrastructure Works Framework Agreement will run for four years and has been broken down into four lots governing minor and major works.

The works will include general highway and junction improvements, traffic signal installations, provision of bus and cycle lanes, public realm and environmental works, utility diversions and connections and liaison with other contractors and developers and highway maintenance.

Firms have until 23 September to prequalify at the city council web portal, ahead of a formal invitation to tender on 10 October.
