Lend Lease and its joint venture partner NG Bailey are holding a Meet the Buyer event on Thursday December 5 in association with Constructionline.
Work at Beacon Barracks includes refurbishment of eight buildings and the construction of 25 new blocks with the scope of works including accommodation and communal areas, technical work shops and medical and dental care facilities.
The free “Supplier Engagement Day” at the Staffordshire County Showground will allow local contractors, suppliers and tradespeople to find out about job opportunities on the redevelopment.
Cheryl Wrench, Client Relationship Manager at Constructionline, said: “It can be challenging for local construction companies to get involved in larger projects.
“For this reason, it is great to see Lend Lease sourcing local subcontractors, suppliers and trades people on such a high profile scheme and supporting the local economy.
“Hosting events like this which bring local suppliers together with clients is at the heart of what we do – we want to help them find and secure work and also make it easier for those behind projects like this to find reliable and local construction companies.”
A spokesperson from Lend Lease said: “We are committed to supporting the economy in the areas in which we work, investing in the local workforce, suppliers and subcontractors.
“Constructionline’s event not only gives us the opportunity to extend our supply chain but also creates opportunities for local individuals and businesses.”
