The project was one of the schemes whose start date was brought forward in last year’s Budget.
Full construction works will now begin in January and target completion is set for at the end of 2016 or beginning of 2017.
M1 Junction 19 is a major UK road intersection and the scope of works includes the construction of direct free-flow links, easing traffic movements at the intersections linking the M1, M6 and A14.
The scheme also includes refurbishment works to three local roads. The project will lead to improved safety and journey reliability.
Skanska and Jacobs were signed up for the job back in 2005 under an early contractor involvement deal to deliver detailed design and control costs.
