The three-year campaign will be run by CITB-ConstructionSkills in partnership with the Federation of Master Builders and the National Specialist Contractors Council.
The drive will outline work opportunities to smaller contractors and received a boost this week when Climate Secretary Chris Huhne announced plans to create 250,000 jobs during a “refurbishment revolution” to make existing homes more energy efficient.
CITB chief executive Mark Farrar said: “We are all aware that the carbon clock is ticking but some sectors are better prepared than others.
“The built environment’s major players are already planning for a low carbon future, which is why year one of the campaign will focus on businesses where awareness is lower – helping small and medium sized companies and the retrofit and infrastructure sectors to become carbon clever.”
