Bowmer & Kirkland, Kier and Shepherd are among contractors who returned tenders this summer after planning permission was granted in May.
Funding still needs to be secured for the scheme which will be considered by an FA board meeting next month.
The FA has pledged more than £20m for the scheme but it is believed there is still a £10m shortfall despite a sponsorship deal with Umbro.
The deficit was improved today with the news that the FA has struck a deal with Hilton to run a 250-bed hotel alongside the scheme.
The centre – known as St George’s Park – is vital to training a new generation of English footballers to compete at the highest level.
England Manager Fabio Capello said: “The venue will be an inspirational site, a place for coaches and players to work, learn and develop.
“This is a much needed facility and through my own experiences at Coverciano in Italy, I understand the importance of the Centre for England.”
Plans were first put forward for the centre in 2003 and the FA hopes to have it open by 2012.
