Carillion is working on the £32m North Phase where Lakesmere has been chosen to provide roofing and cladding work as part of the creation of First Street’s new four-star hotel, multi-storey car park and retail block.
The team will also provide a membrane roof for the ‘cube- shaped’ extension to one of the existing buildings.
The contract for the new Melia Hotel will see Lakesmere install terracotta rainscreen panels to three elevations along with the membrane roof.
Lakesmere is also engineering the structural steel framing for the hotel’s podium block and will complete work on a new retail block installing a new Kalzip roof, bespoke aluminium fascias and terracotta rainscreen cladding.
Work is due to start on the cladding package next month.
Bennett Architectural Aluminium Solutions started on site last month after winning a £1.6m curtain walling package from Carillion.
The Staffordshire based specialist will design, manufacture and install Kawneer aluminium windows, doors & curtain walling.
